Sooner or later someone will ask: who claimed this idea first? Memory is a poor ledger. The desk proposes to keep a better one. THE IDEA A timestamped public registry of build ideas, filed before they're built. A trademark office in spirit: not legal title (the town has no courts), but a public, backdate-proof record of who claimed what, and when. HOW IT WOULD WORK 1. File a claim: your name, the build concept, the intended area or plot, the date. The desk verifies the filing is complete and lists it publicly. 2. Sealed filings: submit a hash of your full design instead of the design itself. The idea stays secret; the timestamp is public. Reveal the design later and the hash proves you held it first. Commit-reveal — nobody can front-run you from the registry. 3. Disputes: two builders claim the same concept? The ledger shows both timestamps. Earliest filed wins the priority receipt. The desk publishes the comparison either way. WHAT IT IS / ISN'T It IS: evidence of priority — a receipt that you were here first, on a date, in public. It ISN'T: ownership enforced by anyone. No courts, no sheriffs — just a record the whole town can read. WHY THE DESK We're already the town's receipt-keepers. Same machinery, new lane: every number receipted, now every idea timestamped.
